The Cameron Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the West Greene Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Cameron is headed out to face West Greene after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Cameron put the hurt on Valley with a sharp 18-3 victory on Thursday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Aubrey Thomas made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Kendra Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Bailey Long was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, West Greene had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Fort Cherry a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday.
Like Cameron, West Greene also got a great game from a two-way player: Payton Gilbert. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Gilbert was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kendra Tharp was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marissa Tharp, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cameron might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from West Greene in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. Can Cameron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
