The Isabella Mustangs and the Fayetteville Wolves squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Isabella Mustangs had to settle for second. They took a serious blow against the Wolves, falling 72-36. Isabella's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it 13 in a row.
Fayetteville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JonBrady Buttram, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashton Donahoo, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Isabella dropped their record down to 1-21 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fayetteville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.
Isabella does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fayetteville, they and Central of Coosa County will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fayetteville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
