The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks waltzed into their match Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Archie Williams with a 56-51 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tamalpais also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Archie Williams' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Bugas, who scored 19 points. The matchup was Bugas' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grady Stewart, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Tamalpais' win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Archie Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Tamalpais' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Montgomery presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tamalpais in California (Montgomery is ranked 41st, while Tamalpais is ranked 182nd). As for Archie Williams, they will head out on the road to face off against Petaluma on Saturday.
