The Roosevelt Roughriders are taking a road trip to challenge the Dakota Ridge Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Dakota Ridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Roosevelt, who comes in off a win.
While Roughriders fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. Everything went their way against Greeley Central on Saturday as Roosevelt made off with a 9-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Roughriders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Brady Mylander made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Sauer, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Bryant, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central only posted a batting average of .048.
Meanwhile, Dakota Ridge unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Denver North on Saturday, falling 10-4.
Jackson Barrett was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Lee, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
