The Scott Skyhawks took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They secured a 42-37 W over Buffalo. For Scott, this counts as revenge for the 47-34 loss Buffalo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Scott can attribute much of their success to Cheyenne Robinson, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amelia Smith, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Buffalo's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren White, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Boggess, who scored 6 points along with 12 rebounds.
Scott's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will face off against Elkins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Buffalo, they will head out on the road to face off against Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
