The Hanover Wildcats were the 50-45 winner over the Centralia Panthers when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. Hanover took a hard 68-52 fall against the Panthers on Friday.
Hanover's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Martin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braylon Meyn, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Centralia, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover will take on the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Onaga will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Wildcats are ranked 96th). As for Centralia, they will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Troy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
