The Cuero Gobblers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 81-48 win over Woodsboro.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taggart Silvas, who scored 15 points. Silvas scored a full 31.3% of Woodsboro's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jorge Carrizal, who scored 10 points.
Cuero's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Woodsboro, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cuero is on the road again on Friday and play against Edna at 6:15 p.m. on December 15th. As for Woodsboro, they will face off against McMullen County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McMullen County will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
