Baseball Recap: The Village School of Naples Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mason Classical Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Village School of Naples). They put the hurt on the Mason Classical Academy Paladins with a sharp 24-5 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Paladins: they've now won seven in a row.

Nolan Baxter was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Will Pryor was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Talbot, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

The Village School of Naples always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The Village School of Naples' win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mason Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
