Tekoa-Rosalia is 7-0 against Valley Christian since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves are on the road again and play against the Valley Christian Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Saturday, things could have been worse for Tekoa-Rosalia, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-37 loss to Oakesdale. While losing is never fun, Tekoa-Rosalia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Oakesdale is ranked 104th).
Tekoa-Rosalia might have lost, but man, Isaac Bone was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Bone's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Vanden Allen, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Tekoa-Rosalia struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 81-72 to Mary Walker. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tekoa-Rosalia's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-4. As for Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Tekoa-Rosalia beat Valley Christian 68-57 in their previous matchup back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tekoa-Rosalia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
