The Harding University Rams''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 50-12 loss at the hands of West Mecklenburg. While losing is never fun, Harding University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 295th, while West Mecklenburg is ranked 135th).
Despite the loss, Harding University still got an impressive performance from Aj Jenkins, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
West Mecklenburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beady Waddell V, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Waddell V is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last ten games he's played. Joe Abbey and his 107 yards on the ground were also a key factor in West Mecklenburg's win.
Harding University's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.8 points per game. As for West Mecklenburg, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Harding University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Mecklenburg also has no future games currently scheduled.
