Volleyball Recap: Manawa Gets the Win

Manawa posted their closest victory since October 10, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Green Bay East Red Devils. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Manawa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Schertz Adelyn paced Manawa's offense, picking up four kills. Adelyn got some help from Elmhorst Abby and her eight assists. Krueger Katelyn controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

The win got Manawa back to even at 4-4. As for Green Bay East, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Manawa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Shiocton on the 28th. As for Green Bay East, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shawano Community at 7:00 p.m. on September 30.
