Tidewater Academy and Fuqua are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Tidewater Academy Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Fuqua Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tidewater Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Tidewater Academy didn't have too much trouble with Amelia Academy at home as they won 55-36. The victory was just what Tidewater Academy needed coming off of a 61-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Fuqua's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Brunswick Academy 75-33. Fuqua has not had much luck with Brunswick Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Sam Minix put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 42.4% of Fuqua's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fuqua struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Tidewater Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Fuqua, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Tidewater Academy came up short against Fuqua in their previous matchup back in January, falling 51-39. Can Tidewater Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
