Chagrin Falls has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kirtland Hornets at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Chagrin Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
Chagrin Falls struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Rockets had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Chagrin Falls took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chagrin Falls in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Avery Russell, who scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Bencko, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Kirtland beat the Falcons 51-43 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kirtland.
Chagrin Falls' loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Kirtland, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Chagrin Falls against the Hornets in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 50-20 victory. Will Chagrin Falls repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
