North Royalton extended the longest winning streak in Northeast Ohio - River this week by beating Elyria, 62-55. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bears.
Cuyahoga Falls moved up to 186 from 260 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 46-28 win over the Black Tigers helped the Black Tigers improve their standing.
North Royalton's dynamic duo of Travis Tarnowski and Nick Krempasky proved tough for the Pioneers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Tarnowski threw for 304 yards and six touchdowns and Krempasky had 115 yards receiving. Carl Lint helped North Royalton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 68 yards.
Ben Gedeon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 155 yards as Hudson topped Elyria. Teammate Jared Ruffing added to the ground attack by rushing for 51 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Tarnowski of the Bears is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1238. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, the Pioneers' Jordan Connell has rushed for 567 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tim Kennedy. The Hudson star has 26 catches for 407 yards.
Cuyahoga Falls made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,942 from 4,259. The advance stemmed from a 46-28 victory over the Black Tigers last week.
