Anderson is 1-8 against West Clermont since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Anderson Raptors will head out on the road to take on the West Clermont Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Anderson is hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Anderson ended up a good deal behind Harrison and lost 55-36. While losing is never fun, Anderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Harrison is ranked 132nd).
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but West Clermont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lebanon 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory West Clermont has posted yet this season.
West Clermont found their leader in underclassman Maddi Fender, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fender has scored all season. Meagyn Riffle was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists and three steals.
Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for West Clermont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Anderson was taken down by West Clermont 68-25 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Clermont's Layla Hale, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Now that Anderson knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
