The Walhalla Razorbacks will square off against the Seneca Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Walhalla took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Pickens by a score of 7-3. The win continues a trend for the Razorbacks in their matchups with the Blue Flame: they've now won nine in a row.
Carson Duncan was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Duncan was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Collin Phillips was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Carson Bibb was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Seneca waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Devildogs.
Tyler Vassey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kade Scruggs and William Cutshall did most of the damage at the plate: Scruggs scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Cutshall scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Seneca pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Walhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Walhalla has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seneca struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Walhalla might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Seneca in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Walhalla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
