On Friday Tavares take on Neumann at 6:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Tavares, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Tavares were humbled last Friday. They came up short against Eustis, falling 20-33. Tavares got a solid performance out of sophomore Ty'quan Wiggins, who passed for 335 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Neumann ultimately got the result it was hoping for. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Moore Haven 21-20.
Neumann's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Tavares's loss dropped them down to 2-2. In their win, Neumann relied heavily on senior Jensen Jones, who rushed for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tavares will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
