The Estero Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Osceola Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Estero is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Hudson by a score of 12-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won four matches in a row.
Ava Weinbaum was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Madelyn Millette also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Estero was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Osceola got themselves on the board against Port Charlotte on Wednesday, but Port Charlotte never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Warriors have won 16 contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Osceola let Theresa Diez and Jenna Neupaver run wild. Diez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Neupaver went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bri Shephard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Osceola has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Estero, their record now sits at 15-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Estero has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
