This season hasn't been kind to the Dallas County Hornets, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were the victim of a rough 46-20 defeat at the hands of Billingsley on Friday. Dallas County lost against Billingsley in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-40 score last time.
Leading Billingsley to victory were Derrica Motley and Alana Jones. Motley scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Jones dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliyah McCary, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Dallas County's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.1 points per game. As for Billingsley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Dallas County will head out on the road to face off against Booker T. Washington Magnet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker T. Washington Magnet comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Billingsley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Notasulga at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
