The North Brunswick Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 28 points or more this season. They breezed by Topsail on the road to the tune of 76-48. Given North Brunswick's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Topsail is ranked 441st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malakhi Daniels was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Brunswick's points. Gavin Lindbert was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
North Brunswick's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Topsail, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
North Brunswick's road trip will continue as they head out to face Whiteville at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. Topsail will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
