The Williams Field Black Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Gilbert Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Williams Field's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Kellis 14-0. The Black Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Thomas Petranek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Petranek was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Malcom Harrison looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Williams Field let Silas Stephens and Jackson Albers run wild. Stephens went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Albers scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave Albers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxin Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Williams Field was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kellis only posted a batting average of .062.
Meanwhile, Gilbert entered their tilt with Mesa on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Jackrabbits.
Wilfredo Aviles IV made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Gilbert is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise. Aviles IV was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grant Goodman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Gilbert: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Cameron Foegal was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Williams Field has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Gilbert's record now sits at 7-9.
Williams Field couldn't quite finish off Gilbert when the teams last played back in April of 2022 and fell 5-3. Can Williams Field avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
