Alvin barely beat South Houston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Yellowjackets this season.

Alvin's got stronger as the match went on, holding South Houston to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-8.

Payton Ashley paced Alvin's offense, picking up nine kills. Ashley got some help from Hayleigh Griffin and her 13 assists.

The victory snapped Alvin's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-17 record. As for South Houston, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-25.

Alvin has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Sam Rayburn on the 9th. As for South Houston, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Manvel on the 9th.
