The South Anchorage Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Thunder Mountain Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, South Anchorage faced Chugiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Anchorage snuck past Chugiak with a 29-24 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points South Anchorage has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Thunder Mountain put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 62-13 win over Lumen Christi on the road. Thunder Mountain has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 25 points or more this season.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Thunder Mountain, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
South Anchorage skirted past Thunder Mountain 61-59 when the teams last played back in February of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Anchorage since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
