The Alice Coyotes lost against the Bishop Badgers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Alice was outmatched by Bishop at home and fell 88-50. Alice was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-30.
Alice's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devon Barrera, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Villanueva, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Alice's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Bishop, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.
Alice will head out on the road to face off against Robstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robstown is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop, they will be playing at home against Tuloso-Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tuloso-Midway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
