The Bowie Bulldogs will take on the Annapolis Panthers at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bowie's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Annapolis has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Saturday, Bowie earned an 8-3 win over DuVal. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Jack Young made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Jayden Ryland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Bowie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Annapolis came into Friday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Southern on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 15-3).
Like Bowie, Annapolis also got a great game from a two-way player: Colin Bashor. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Annapolis is undefeated when Bashor posts eight or more strikeouts, but 1-13 otherwise. Bashor was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Malachi Quinn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Bowie's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Annapolis, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Annapolis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bowie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. It's a different story for Annapolis, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Bowie's hitters?
Bowie might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Annapolis in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
