Gray's Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Zeek Reed and Quion Andrews. Reed scored 12 points, while Andrews scored nine points.
Seventy-First's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mylon Campbell led the charge by scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier McBryde, who scored ten points.
Gray's Creek bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seventy-First, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Gray's Creek will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. Douglas Byrd comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Seventy-First will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Purnell Swett at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Purnell Swett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Seventy-First is ranked 74th).
