The Diamond Bar Brahmas will head out on the road to face off against the Walnut Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Diamond Bar comes in on four and Walnut on three.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Diamond Bar beat Rowland 54-48.
Meanwhile, even though Workman scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, Walnut still came out on top. Walnut took their matchup against Workman 67-55. Given Walnut's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Workman is ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Myles Wainwright, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Chris Wang, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Diamond Bar is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Walnut, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Diamond Bar came up short against Walnut when the teams last played back in January, falling 67-59. Can Diamond Bar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
