It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Tescott Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Waverly by a score of 52-45. The victory was familiar territory for Tescott who now have five in a row.
Tescott's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Peters, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. James Dickerman was another key contributor, rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Tescott's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 7-1.
Tescott will square off against Cunningham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cunningham's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine contests. Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
