The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights lost against the Brunswick Academy Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost to Brunswick Academy on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin. While losing is never fun, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Brunswick Academy is ranked 158th).
When it comes to explaining why Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost, one person who can't be blamed is Charlie Potter. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Potter has scored all season. Lily Hickey was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Brunswick Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will take on Kenston Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brunswick Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Tidewater Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tidewater Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
