It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ore City Rebels can now relate to. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of Honey Grove on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, Ore City couldn't push the score so high this time.
Honey Grove found their leader in underclassman Ryelan Morris, who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Morris was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dre Patt, who gained 116 total yards.
Ore City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Honey Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1-1.
Ore City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Honey Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Centerville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
