The Bloomfield Bees lost against the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Bloomfield took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Niobrara/Verdigre. Bloomfield has not had much luck with Niobrara/Verdigre recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Abbenhaus. Despite the final result, she scored 29 points. Abbenhaus scored a full 55.8% of Bloomfield's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenly Gilsdorf, who scored 11 points.
Josilyn Miller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Niobrara/Verdigre, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The game was Miller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eve Kucera, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Bloomfield now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Wakefield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they will be playing at home against Crofton on Thursday.
