Newman Central Catholic came out on top against Monmouth-Roseville on Friday thanks in part to Garret Matznick's efforts. Matznick scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, which was good enough to set a new career-high in runs.

Coming up, Matznick and Newman Central Catholic will challenge Bishop McNamara at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Matznick has dominated as far as stolen bases are concerned (he's averaged 1.5 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering the Fightin' Irish have only allowed 0.84 per game this season.
