The Pacifica Mariners will face off against the Esperanza Aztecs at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Esperanza took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pacifica, who comes in off a win.
Pacifica took a loss when they played away from home  on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mission Viejo  a   3-0 shutout.
Not much got past  Ellena Ediss, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Mission Viejo off the board. Ediss has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive appearances.

 At the plate, Pacifica let  Mattea Stern and  Leyla Ayres run wild. Stern  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while  Ayres  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  Ayres a new career-high.  Alyssa Holsted also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
 Meanwhile, Esperanza fell victim to El Modena and their airtight pitching crew  on Friday. They came up short against  the Vanguards, falling  9-0. The Aztecs have struggled against the Vanguards recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
 Pacifica's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-6. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Esperanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
