Temecula Prep is a perfect 4-0 against California Lutheran since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. On Friday, Temecula Prep got the win against California Military Institute by a conclusive 20-11. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Rough Riders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Ava Winkowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoe Strand, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, California Lutheran came up short against United Christian Academy on Wednesday, falling 26-8. The C-Hawks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
California Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cailin Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Neleh Boehm was another, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Temecula Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for California Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Temecula Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. However, it's not like California Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
