Lake Gibson's Tyler Brown recorded the longest rushing play in 6A District 10 this season in his game against Bartow last week. Brown ran for 70 yards on the play and finished with 123 on the day as his team bested the Yellow Jackets.
Lake Gibson extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bartow, 33-29. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Braves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trey Congdon threw for 308 yards and Sammie Jackson had 116 yards receiving. Eric Carter helped Lake Gibson's passing attack out by catching six balls for 100 yards.
Lake Gibson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Braves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Congdon has thrown for 1463 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Carter has 42 catches for 656 yards. Brown leads the league in rushing with 952 yards.
Lake Gibson's Brown is a mere 48 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in 6A District 10 this week will be when the Braves take on the Devils /Red. At the moment, Lake Gibson is in first, while Kathleen is in third.
Winter Haven took down Sebring 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
