Softball Recap: Clay Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Clay lost to Bowling Green back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Eagles blew past the Bobcats 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Clay is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Bowling Green, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay will venture away from home to challenge Napoleon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bowling Green, they will face off against Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Flyers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
