The East Duplin Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the North Duplin Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Duplin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so North Duplin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
East Duplin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Southwest Onslow on Friday. They fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 3-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Stallions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kyle Kern was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, East Duplin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Tuck, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double was Tuck's first of the season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 23 runs the game before, North Duplin was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Rosewood by a score of 2-1. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Noah Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hunt Pate made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
East Duplin's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for North Duplin, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.
Everything went East Duplin's way against North Duplin in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as East Duplin made off with a 14-4 victory. Will East Duplin repeat their success, or does North Duplin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
