ABF Academy took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Elite Academy Eagles by a score of 56-48. The win was nothing new for the Cowboys as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.
ABF Academy can attribute much of their success to Matias Villada, who posted 22 points. Those 22 points gave Villada a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deivi Palacios, who scored nine points.
Elite Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Liam Burell, who earned 18 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Levi Brown, who put up 11 points.
Coming up, ABF Academy will host 212 Sports Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Cowboys their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Elite Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Pathways at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
