Last Wednesday, Flagstaff Christian beat New Way Learning Academy 9-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Flagstaff Christian.
Corbyn Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Goble, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jesse Kleinhenz, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Flagstaff Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Way Learning Academy only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian Academy got the win against New Way Learning Academy on Friday by a conclusive 12-3. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Like Flagstaff Christian, Tri-City Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Joel Miller. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Miller was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Tri-City Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Michael Brady and Canaan Brady did most of the damage at the plate: Michael scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Canaan scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Tri-City Christian Academy is undefeated when Michael posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Eddie McDonnell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Flagstaff Christian picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, their record now sits at 4-5.
