On Thursday, Red Mesa escaped with a win against the by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Red Mesa.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daleni Nakai, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Nakai hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Shyla Pipkin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Red Mesa's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12. As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
Red Mesa will head out on the road to square off against the Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Michael will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. El Capitan/Centennial Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
