Norwayne is a perfect 3-0 against Triway since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field against the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Norwayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Norwayne earned a 6-3 victory over Hillsdale. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.
CJ Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makenna Heyden, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Lonsbury, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI.
Meanwhile, Triway unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 5-2 to Indian Valley. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Titans couldn't push the score so high this time.
Triway also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Maddy Moran gave up four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Kenzie Gatti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ashley Braunscheidel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Norwayne pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Triway, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Norwayne skirted past Triway 6-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
