Meanwhile, Basha made easy work of Sunnyslope on Tuesday and carried off a 14-3 victory. Considering the Bears have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Josie Karpenski looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Makaila Quinney was a standout: she fired off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Lainey Clapp was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Basha kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunnyslope only managed three hits.
Chandler's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Basha, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Chandler's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Wolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Basha, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chandler continue to outrun the ball?
