The Richwoods Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Tri-Valley Vikings on Thursday. Tri-Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Richwoods, who comes in off a win.
Richwoods' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Peoria Heights as they made off with a 23-0 win. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Cici Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Robinson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley entered their game against St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Vikings came up short against the Spartans, falling 20-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since May 11, 2024.
Tri-Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Fesler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Fesler also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Richwoods' win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Tri-Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Richwoods has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
