The St. Martinville Tigers were the 38-31 winner over the Breaux Bridge Tigers when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. St. Martinville fell just short of Breaux Bridge by a score of 52-49.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raytyrion Narcisse, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristian Batiste, who scored ten points along with three steals.
St. Martinville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Breaux Bridge, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
St. Martinville and New Iberia will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. New Iberia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Martinville in Louisiana (New Iberia is ranked 46th, while St. Martinville is ranked 153rd). As for Breaux Bridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
