Duchesne is a perfect 10-0 against North Sevier since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. Duchesne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
While Duchesne's victory against Gunnison Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Bulldogs 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Prezley Farnsworth was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Larsen, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Duchesne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, North Sevier got themselves on the board against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams on Wednesday, but Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams never followed suit. They blew past the Marauders 15-0. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.
North Sevier got a massive performance out of Avery Taylor, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Cheyenne Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Duchesne's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for North Sevier, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
North Sevier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Duchesne has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for North Sevier, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Duchesne's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
Duchesne got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against North Sevier by a conclusive 20-3 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
