The Brownell Talbot Raiders lost against the Conestoga Cougars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Brownell Talbot had to suffer through a rough 72-41 loss at the hands of Conestoga. Brownell Talbot has not had much luck with Conestoga recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Brownell Talbot still got an impressive performance from Simon Lim, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Lim also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Matt Schinzel was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Leading Conestoga to victory were Noah Simones and Zachariah Smith. Simones scored 18 points along with three steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Owen Trofholz, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Brownell Talbot's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Conestoga, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
Brownell Talbot will head out on the road to challenge Tekamah-Herman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tekamah-Herman is coming into the contest with five straight losses at home, meaning Brownell Talbot will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Conestoga, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Nebraska City at 6:15 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Nebraska City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
