The Collinsville Kahoks will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Belleville West Maroons at 6:00 p.m. Belleville West took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Collinsville, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Collinsville didn't have too much trouble with Belleville East on the road as they won 43-29.
It was another big night for Talesha Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Collinsville's points. Another player making a difference was CARSYN MOAD, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Belleville West, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a serious blow against O'Fallon on Thursday, falling 71-19. While losing is never fun, Belleville West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while O'Fallon is ranked tenth).
The losses dropped Collinsville to 4-3 and Belleville East to 2-4.
Collinsville took their win against Belleville West when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 57-36. Will Collinsville repeat their success, or does Belleville West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
