Even though the Diamond Bar Brahmas scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Walnut Mustangs still came out on top. Walnut slipped by Diamond Bar 57-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Walnut.
Nathan Yen was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Leon, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds.
Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Diamond Bar, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut will square off against Rowland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rowland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Walnut likes a good challenge. As for Diamond Bar, they will head out on the road to challenge Los Altos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Los Altos is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
