Baseball Recap: Bluffton's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

While Bluffton's win against McIntosh County Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Buccaneers 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 back in March.

Dawson Kunze and Ryan Goll made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Kunze pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Goll tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Kunze went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Goll went 3-for-4 with two runs. Kunze is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Wolfe, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Bluffton's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for McIntosh County Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Bluffton will look to defend their home field on Monday against Beaufort at 6:30 p.m. McIntosh County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
