Baseball Recap: Shenango Wins Going Away Against Laurel

Shenango had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Laurel on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Spartans 10-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jack Kielar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Anterock, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Shenango pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Laurel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Shenango will have a chance to go back-to-back against Laurel: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
